Agrivi raises €4 million for its mission of digitization global agriculture

On November 17th, 2020. Croatia’s first agricultural tech startup Agrivi with headquarters in London secured €4million in Series A funding round from South Central Ventures, the European Investment Fund (EIF), and the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development(HBOR). Fil Rouge Capital and AgriTech Hub also participated in the round.

Agrivi is a SaaS developer of farm management solutions that are used in over 150 countries worldwide. By using Agrivi’ssoftware solutions farmers can optimize their production, protect their crops, and achieve sustainable and profitable production.

Agrivi was founded in 2013. by Matija Žulj (CEO) with a vision to completely change the way we are producing food. His goal is to positively impact one billion lives by helping farmers reach sustainable,resource-efficient, and profitable production.

‍Agrivi has been awarded numerous times on a global scale. They won the title of the World’s Best Startup in November 2014. by winning 1st prize in the World Startup Competition held in Seoul. They have been recognized as a global leader in the farm management software industry by reputable market research agencies. Agrivi was also awarded as the most innovative company by the Croatian Ministry of Entrepreneurship.

‍Some of Agrivi’s customers include Nestlé, Driscoll’s, Kimberly-Clark, and BNP Paribas. Tamara Perko, President of HBOR’s Management Board, stated: „ Investment in Agrivi was carried out together with the EIF through the CROGIP program, which encourages the availability of risky capital to Croatian entrepreneurs. The potential of the Croatian economy is in innovative companies with global ambitions, of which Agrivi is an excellent example“. The funds raised from this round will be used to help Agrivi expand its business across Europe and the US.

South Central Ventures is a member of the CroatianPrivate Equity and Venture Capital Association (CVCA) and we happy to see Agrivi, the Croatian company, as the latest addition to their portfolio in the very final phase of their investment cycle.
